     Title: Collect 2019

The team popped to see the Collect exhibition for 2019. This initiative created by the Crafts Council is the only gallery presented art fair dedicated to modern craft and design. Featuring over 40 galleries, 400 artists all over 45 days, the work is unique and created for just for the fair. It's always extremely inspiring and this year's presentation was no exception, our team particularly loved the Collect Open Gallery, which showcased the work of 15 individual artists outside of gallery presentation to have the chance to get their work seen by an international audience of collectors, press and buyers.

One of our favourites was Janine Partington with a leather and acrylic paint installation entitled 'Marking Time'. This series of pieces was created to capture the fragments of memory lost when a parent has dementia. Another inspiring work in this section was a body of work called 'The aesthetics of uncertainty' which celebrates risk and chance. These vessels were been crafted from American red oak, cherry, maple and ash via The American Hardwood Export Council. From Brighton based Stefano Santilli.
