Teacake Tuesday Devises New Quintessa Stand Concept for Decorex 2019

Oct 10, 2019

We worked on behalf of our client Quintessa Art to devise a trend led exhibition stand at the 2019 edition of Decorex International. Working with our network of stylists and set builders we commissioned a stand and collection concept which would showcase a new collection aimed at interior designers for 2020 and 2021.

A six month project, this involved consulting on colour direction, looking at international industry trends and art trends. This was the 29th year that our client had participated in the trade show, and this year Quintessa clients visiting the stand were very complimentary of the overall concept and the resulting artworks, with orders having already been received since the show.

Voice Of Colour | FLOW

Sep 22, 2019

During the 2019 edition of the London Design Festival, we worked with one of the leading colour agencies Calzada Fox to support an event for international coating and paint company's PPG and one of its brands Johnstone's Paints. Working to support Calzada Fox and the PPG's colour of the year 2020 launch, the focus was a series of talks around the topic of helping architects and designers to shape their future creative expressions. The Teacake Tuesday team worked to look after event listings, filming keynote speakers guest invitations, posting social media updates, event set up and breakdown as well as drafting biographies, and press soundbytes for the event.

With speakers including Dominic Lutyens from the Evening Standard and Laura Sanjan from one of London's hottest emerging architectural firms Soda Studio, guests were treated to insights into how architects and designers view and work with colour.

Sep 5, 2019

We recently flew to Belfast to support our client Thompson Clarke for a special end of summer party supported by leading luxury brand The Rug Company. Named 'The Silk Route' the evening was created especially in order to say a special thank you to key clients and media for having supporting Thompson Clarke in reaching its eighth year of successful trading.

Several designs from The Rug Company had been carefully curated for a unique display including design hero's such as Alexander McQueen's exquisite hummingbird design, Jonathan Saunders iconic Herringbone design and Kelly Wearstler's famous rug design called 'Channels'. With over 160 guests in attendance on the night, including influencers, press and media and other suppliers such as Zoffany and Colefax and Fowler, the Persian themed night marked the end of summer as guests swayed to an ambient music set courtesy of renowned DJ Steve Simpson, and enjoying a Persian feast served up by award winning food artisans Deli Muru.

Collect 2019

Mar 1, 2019

The team popped to see the Collect exhibition for 2019. This initiative created by the Crafts Council is the only gallery presented art fair dedicated to modern craft and design. Featuring over 40 galleries, 400 artists all over 45 days, the work is unique and created for just for the fair. It's always extremely inspiring and this year's presentation was no exception, our team particularly loved the Collect Open Gallery, which showcased the work of 15 individual artists outside of gallery presentation to have the chance to get their work seen by an international audience of collectors, press and buyers.

One of our favourites was Janine Partington with a leather and acrylic paint installation entitled 'Marking Time'. This series of pieces was created to capture the fragments of memory lost when a parent has dementia. Another inspiring work in this section was a body of work called 'The aesthetics of uncertainty' which celebrates risk and chance. These vessels were been crafted from American red oak, cherry, maple and ash via The American Hardwood Export Council. From Brighton based Stefano Santilli.

We worked with Eleanor Ross, a highly experienced journalist on a special piece for Virgin about why more employers should view their employees taking a Sabbatical as a positive thing.

Thompson Clarke Featured in The Irish Times

Dec 2, 2018

We were tasked recently by our client leading Irish Interior Design company Thompson Clarke Interiors to promote their services and design philosophy. One of our very first PR 'wins' was a two page feature in the property supplement of the Irish Times with a dedicated readership of over 60,000.

This in-depth profile looked at the company and explained its design philosophy as well as pinpointing what makes Thompson Clarke stand out amongst competitive design houses. We worked hard to secure the initial lead, and set up an interview with the writer, ensuring that the key attributes would come across in the article. The client has very quick to respond to questions and fact check for us too, which was instrumental in securing this positive editorial, which also appeared in a later online version. An all round 'win win'!

The Gabbertas Studio Appoints Teacake Tuesday

Sep 26, 2013

We were delighted to be approached about PR by acclaimed furniture designer Mark Gabbertas, who has been at the forefront of the renaissance of British design since the 1990's. Best know for collaborative projects with Artifex, Allermuir, Boss, Lyndon, Chorus, Oasiq and Gloster, the Studio's position on design is clear; "to create character through simplicity".

Teacake Tuesday's brief will be to work on brand building and present media insights surrounding new product presentations. We were already active during the recent London Design Festival where a number of the Gabebrtas Studio designs were presented, including 100% Design, and Design Junction.  'Han', a deceptively simple chair with sub layers of technical expertise has also been nominated for the prestigious 2013 Wood Awards, one of the UK's premier architecture and furniture competitions which aims to recognise, encourage and promote outstanding desing, craftsmanship in wood and wood products. Have you cast your vote yet?

Bats, Tats and Timothy Everest

Jun 18, 2013

The Teacake Tuesday team is in recovery after a busy few weeks working to stage the launch of Timothy Everest's latest collaborative collection which launched this week as part of the London Collections: Men fashion weekend. Teaming up with luxury brand by revered tattoo artist Horiyoshi III, the collection was supported by none other than the rather fabulous Tilda Swinton, who agreed to feature in a short fifteen minute film which explored (through exaggerated movements) some of the shapes a bespoke client will undergo when having a fitting. Timothy crafted a stunning two piece suit for Tilda to wear to the launch event, made from white cashmere and silk it was a low slung single breasted jacket with tapered pleats. Vogue.com voted for the outfit on their 'best dressed' list this week also.

Brining together the idea of two bespoke worlds, that of tailoring and tattooing Timothy created a unique collection brining pattern and cut together, inspired by some of Horiyoshi III's symbolic figure, animal and floral motifs. Hero items from the collection featured a cobalt blue towncoat and reversible bomber jacket. Again our thanks to M.A.C for an amazing night of make up and bodypainting, and to key sponsors Herbert Hall, Dormeuil, Morgan Cars, and Jaguar.

Earthborn Selected by Russell Sage for Avebury Manor refurb

Nov 22, 2011

A 500 year old maor house in Avebury Wiltshire is the focus of a new BBC TV makeover programme in conjunction with the National Trust. The Grade 1 listed building dates back to the 16th Century. Earthborn paints was contacted by leading interior design expert Russell Sage to see if they would participate and loan products for the project, due to the inherent nature of the formulations, and as these are so well suited for using in listed buildings of this type. Earthborn had also been selected in 2010 for another restoration project on the London Monument in association with The City of London and Julian Harrap architects for the same reasons.
